Dental Crowns
If a tooth has been badly damaged but is still worth saving, we can put a crown on it. The restoration will be shaped like your natural tooth, and it will be made from a durable material that can withstand the pressure that you’ll put on it whenever you chew. Traditional gold crowns are often recommended for teeth near the back of the mouth. For the more visible teeth, we may suggest an EMAX or zirconia dental crown that can be shaded to perfectly match your other teeth.
Tooth-Colored Fillings
If you have a silver filling from previous dental work, then you’re probably familiar with the feeling of being reluctant to smile because of a dark-colored spot in your mouth. In addition to the aesthetic problems they cause, silver fillings can cause unnecessary damage to the teeth in the long term. Tooth-colored fillings are more conservative and can be molded into the teeth much more easily; they also match the color of the enamel much better after they have been shaded.
Full Mouth Reconstruction
We can combine crowns and fillings with a variety of other treatments to repair all the teeth in your smile. Each full mouth reconstruction is different and will be based on a full examination of your mouth. Some people might need to have multiple teeth replaced while others simply need to have their existing teeth treated with specially chosen restorations and dental prosthetics. The ultimate goal of the treatment is to fully restore the smile’s function and appearance.
Inlays & Onlays
A crown can be used to cover an entire tooth, while an inlay or onlay will only cover part of it. These restorations might be used if the damage is too big for a filling but not so big that a full crown would be required. Inlays can be used to replace missing enamel between the cusps of the tooth whereas onlays can cover the same area but also extend to other parts of the dental structure. The same materials used to make long-lasting, beautiful crowns can also be used to make inlays and onlays.
